DenningXFEHProtagionist

(I am not sorry)

After a brutal round at the Arena Duels, your whole team was beat, but proud. Five Star Hector bulldozed the competition out there, with Takumi, who worked together well with the axe wielder to take out the hordes of regular knights. Merric helped with range, and absolutely wiped the floor with his Growing Wind ability. You could even perhaps say it blew away the competition.

But none worked harder than your new recruit - Denning. He wasn’t as high leveled as your other five outta fives - he was only just introduced to the mobile game as a special event mission. For the sake of experience points, you beat both the normal and hard modes, which while nearly killing you inside, brought to you a sense of satisfaction by the end when you earned him. Now being a 3 star - a commoner of the bunch, he wasn’t exactly an all star like the rest of them, and at times he fell behind. His stats were average, though his resistance and persistence was high on the battlefield. He was dedicated to say the least. And yet, he never spoke any a word besides the same old phrase.

“This is a message from Lord Nergal. I await you on Dread Isle.”

He held a lifeless stare under his mauve cloak, barely a feature that made him stand out from your typical cloaked enemy on the battlefield or generic cultist. But yet, there was this compulsion, this belief inside you, that knew he could do well. It took a long time, a load of stamina, level ups and feathers. But then that fateful day came when he reached level 40 - the peak where he could finally keep up, and suddenly, after those Arena Duels, he approached you. Locking eyes with his thousand yard stare, you would have expected him to spout about his mysterious boss waiting for you on some distant, dreary island again.

Instead however, he took ahold of your hand - tenderly, and with an unusual sweet smile, he spoke.

"This is a message... but not from Lord Nergal this time. This message comes from my heart. I never thought that I'd find happiness in life, living with my heart as barren as the Dread Isle. I awaited someone like you, and you arrived, and changed me for the better. These words are genuine, and you are the truest kind of friend, and I have loved every moment we spent together. To hell with Lord Nergal, you are my only lord now."

Immediately, your face lit blushed with surprised, and before you could even respond, he quickly casted a peck on your cheek and left, looking back at you with that same smile. You couldn’t comprehend what just happened - all in a flash, but right at that moment, you sent a warm grin back to him.

A heartwarming tale for all ages. The start of a fiery romance is about to bloom.
